Return Trip was established by Martin Richardson to record and distribute  his compositions and arrangements inspired by Spanish music.  

 The name Return Trip, Ida y Vuelta in Spanish, refers to musical styles that have their roots in Spain, evolved in Central and South America, and then “returned home” to Spain in modified form.  

 

Martin lived in Spain for amny years and  has studied music composition with  the Open College of  Arts, Berklee College of Music and the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.

Based on compositions written by Martin whilst studying at the Film Scoring Academy  of Music, this album consists of five tracks  recorded in Sofia by musicians from the European Recording Orchestra, together with guest artists from  the UK and Venezuela.  The album illustrates how film music can   be used to enhance the viewers experience whilst watching films.  Each track uses a different sound palette -  from string quartet to a full symphony orchestra.  The  music is inspired by traditional harmonies and rhythms from Spain and Mali.
